This diaphragm fits the JBL 2412H-1 driver, tweeter, horn. Call it what you
want, driver, diaphragm, horn, tweeter, voice coil, high frequency transducer,
but we call it a diaphragm. If your JBL 2412H-1 driver is not working, then
chances are your diaphragm is blown. Replacing your blown diaphragm with one of
these new diaphragms will restore your driver to working condition. Why replace
the complete driver assembly when their is nothing wrong with the driver? Its a
magnet, the magnet did not go bad. The voice coil of the diaphragm is what burns
out, other wise known as blown.
Heres how can you tell if your diaphragm is bad. Test it with a simple ohm
meter. You should get a reading of 4.14 to 4.86. Any reading above or below this
is considered out of specifications and should be replaced. Any reading of 0 or
infinity is blown and will need to be replaced to fix your tweeter driver.
Replacing the diaphragm is as simple as removing four screws, removing the bad
diaphragm, cleaning the voice coil with a piece of masking tape, and installing
the new diaphragm with the four screws. On newer models you may need to spared
the positive wire terminal a little with a thin screw driver.
