As you can see, your new diaphragm may have different terminals than your old diaphragm. This is not a problem as seen in the last installation step.

Start by removing the four 5/16' bolts in the diaphragm's hold down clamp.

Remove and set aside the hold down clamp and the dust screen.

Now you will see the voice coil gap that the voice coil rides in. You will need to clean the gap. To do this, use a piece of masking tape about 1.5" long and fold it into a triangle, sticky side out. Insert the tape into the gap, slide the tape around in the gap to remove any debris. A small flashlight is helpful when looking for debris that may be left in the gap. Any debris left in the gap may produce a scratchy sound when playing. Do Not use compressed air. Compressed air will only push any magnetic material deeper into the gap.

Now simply install the new diaphragm into the driver. The diaphragm will self-align. Don't forget to replace the dust screen on the top of the diaphragm.

Replace the hold down clamp over the new diaphragm and replace the bolts. As you can see, the hold down clamp fits over the spring-loaded terminals.

If your diaphragm used the spade terminals, simply cut the ends off and strip back the wire insulation. Now just push down on the spring-loaded terminals, insert the wire, and release.

That's it, you're finished. Very simple to replace, saving you time and money.
