JBL 2241H, complete 8 ohm recone kit.

This Pro Parts, recone kit comes with everything you need to recone your JBL 2241H, cone with surround, spider, edge wound aluminum voice coil, dust cap, gaskets, lead wires, centering shims, glue and instructions. The voice coil, spider, cone and lead wires come pre-glued and attached to make installation very simple. The surround has also been pre-treated.

Speaker reconing is not rocket science. The hardest part about reconing speakers is centering and setting the voice coil to the proper depth. We have set the depth for you and your kit comes with centering shims to align the coil perfectly every time.

The voice coil has the correct polarity, the same as the original JBL 2241H kit. When positive voltage is given to the negative terminal, the cone will move out in a forward motion.

This kit is available in 4 and 8 ohms.

I had a true JBL OEM C8R2241 recone kit in one hand and this kit in the other. Without knowing which was which, you could NEVER tell from looking which was the factory kit! The Blacken 99 glue is exactly the same as the Moyen glue in the OEM kit. Now, how does it sound??? It specs out exactly the same on my RTA and the impedence curve was exactly the same, also. I use these 2241's in a double sub cabinets called the JBL SR4719a and they work just GREAT!!! If you are looking for a simple recone kit for 18" sub drivers, and let's be honest here, who isn't...then consider using these recone kits! Unless you can get a true JBL recone service to do the work and guarantee the driver from "miss-use, over-use and abuse" then recone it yourself! IT IS NOT HARD TO DO!!!! At the end of the process, you will have a greater degree of respect for JBL drivers, bar none!!! Don't buy someone's used subwoofer cabinets and take them to a gig, only to find that they chewed them up, recone the drivers up front and know that all is correct, Then you can hump and bump the room and proudly state, " I reconed those woofs! How do they sound?" Good Luck to all reconers and sound guys.
