L-Acoustics SB218 subwoofer, complete 8 ohm recone kit. You can recone your
L-Acoustics SB218 subwoofer yourself and save.
This Pro Parts, recone kit comes with everything you need to recone your
L-Acoustics SB218 subwoofer, cone with surround, double spider with the spacer ring
attached, edge wound
copper voice coil, dust cap, gaskets, lead wires, centering shims, glue and instructions.
The voice coil, spiders, cone and lead wires come pre-glued and attached to make
installation very simple. No soldering required. The surround has also been pre-treated
to ease in installation.
Speaker reconing is not rocket science. The hardest part about reconing
speakers is centering and setting the voice coil to the proper depth. We have
set the depth for you and your kit comes with centering shims to align the coil
perfectly every time. The L-Acoustics SB218 subwoofer is one of the easiest speakers to recone.

The speakers used in the L-Acoustics SB218 subwoofer cabinets are Beyma G550.
Yes, Beyma G550's. This can been seen when taking off the dust cap of the
L-Acoustics SB218 speaker. On the pull piece you will see G550 stamped in the center.
If you call L-Acoustics, they will tell you that yes, the SB218 subwoofer does
use the Beyma G550, but their are slight differences that L-Acoustics specified
to Beyma when they had Beyma manufacture the speaker. This simply is not true.
The speakers inside the L-Acoustics SB218 subwoofer cabinets are the exact same Beyma
speakers with no modification difference at all.
Note: due to the U.S. Department of Transportation regulations, kits shipped outside the U.S. will not include adhesive.
