Now you can recone your Electro Voice EVM 12L
and EVM 12L Series ll speakers yourself and save.
This Pro Parts recone kit comes with everything
you need to recone your Electro Voice EVM 12L, cone with surround, spider, edge
wound aluminum voice coil, dust cap, gaskets, lead wires, centering shim, glue
and instructions. The voice coil, spider, cone and lead wires come pre-glued and
attached, to make installation very simple. The surround has also been
pre-treated. This kit was assembled using a jig / fixture designed specifically to produce this individual recone kit.
Using this jig to assemble the recone kit insures that the voice coil is glued
to the spider and cone at the proper depth every time. High strength, slow cure
cyanoacrylate adhesive is used to attach the coil, spider and cone for a
lightweight superior glue joint. Moyen RS-3087 adhesive is supplied with each
kit for attaching the spider and surround to the speaker frame.

Year Warranty Speaker reconing is not rocket science. The
hardest part about reconing speakers is centering and setting the voice coil to
the proper depth. We have set the depth for you and your kit comes with a
centering shim to align the coil to the voice coil gap perfectly every time.

The pictures below show how to determine the
difference between the EV EVM 12L and the EV EVM 12S.
Set the speaker, magnet down, on a bench and measure from the bench to the top of
the speaker frame. Do not include the gaskets in this measurement.
If your speaker measures closer to 5-1/4 in. you need the EVM 12L kit.
If your speaker measures closer to 5 in. your need the EVM 12S kit.
Note: If you have an EVM 12L with a stamped aluminum cover over the magnet,
this cover will need to be removed as shown, before measuring. The EVM 12S as
shown, does not have a cover to remove.
